Mads Tech Says.

The DJI OSMO 360 is interesting yet frustrating camera from a repair perspective. The camera is held together with screws and incredibly strong adhesive making repair with out damage challenging .

The 1/1.1 Inch CMOS camera sensors are coupled to 90 degree angles lenses and while the front lens glass its self does appear to be replaceable it appears to be held in place again with strong adhesive and makes user replacement and repair extremely difficult.

Teardown has showed many internal components from 3rd party manufactures with no custom DJI silicon found from Qualcomm, Synaptics and others.

  • The main SOC is the Qualcomm Kalama SM8550-AC with Micron 2IB77 D8CCJ 8Gb of stacked GDDR memory, supporting IC’s are PM8550 from Qualcomm for power management.
  • The 128Gb EMMC storage is the YMUS8B4TF1D1C1 from YMTC.
  • Wifi is provided by Synaptics SYN43752 dual-band with Bluetooth 5.3

DJI OSMO 360 Lens Repair & Replacement

Note: At this moment in time they so not appear to be replaceable by users.

As shown in my teardown video below it appears the OSMO 360 lenses appears to be screwed and glued in place.

DJI have fitted a ring around the outside of the lens that covers two holes on either side of the lens.

Once the ring is removed the two holes are visible. It appears the lens is held in place with strong adhesive, removal likely requires heat a special tool to remove.

At this moment in time they so not appear to be removable and replaceable by users.
